Don#39;t you wish there was a small trick or two that could make you more attractive to the opposite sex? It turns out there are plenty. We combed through some recent scientific studies to find personal grooming tips, dietary changes and other fixes that are proven to make you more attractive. Go for a ride...on a roller coaster.坐......过山车Take your date or someone you want to be romantically involved with on a roller coaster. A study from earlier last year revealed that roller coaster riders found their non-romantic co-riders more attractive after a whip around the track, according to The Daily Mail.《每日邮报》报道称,去年早期的研究表明乘客,在经历过过山车之后会发现自己的普通朋友更加有魅力。There was no difference for couples who were aly romantically linked, so this trick only works with potential partners. Eat your fruits and vegetables for glowing skin. Eating more fruits and vegetables is a natural way to make your skin look more attractive, a study from PLoS ONE showed. The redness and yellowness of skin in white people may be linked to the number of servings of fruit and vegetables they eat daily, the study showed. Fruits and vegetables are loaded with antioxidants and plant-based pigments, which seem to give skin a healthy hue. Better yet, the results are instant. Participants in the study had rosier cheeks and healthier looking skin with just an increase of one portion of fruit and vegetables a day. Keep those teeth pearly white保持牙齿白亮A study confirmed the obvious, that a white and evenly spaced set of teeth make people seem more attractive. The study, from researchers at the British universities of Leeds and Central Lancashire, found that teeth are ;the human equivalent of a peacock’s tail,; according to The Daily Mail.《每日邮报》报道称,利兹和中央兰开夏郡的英国大学研究发现,牙齿相当于人类的孔雀尾巴。They are a sign of health and good genetics that help select a mate. Ladies, pick up some red lipstick next time you#39;re at the drug store. A woman#39;s lips are the most attractive part of her body, especially when colored with red lipstick, a study from the Manchester University revealed. The study found that men stared at a woman#39;s lips for seven full seconds when they were colored red. In comparison, they spent just 0.95 seconds looking at her eyes and 0.85 seconds gazing at her hair. Play dumb (but only if you#39;re looking for a fling)装傻(仅限于找一夜情的情况)This one pains us to write. But ladies, if you#39;re looking for a one-night stand, it#39;s best to play it stupid. In a study recently published in Evolution and Human Behavior, graduate students at the University of Texas–Austin found that that men were most attracted to women who appeared ;dimwitted- or immature,; or ;sleepy or intoxicated; for a one-night stand. Women who appeared quick-witted and lucid, on the other hand, were found less physically attractive. Thankfully, the opposite was true when men were seeking long-term partners. Ladies—smile! Ladies, a simple smile will help a guy find you more attractive. Happiness is the most attractive emotion in females, a study called ;Happy Guys Finish Last: The Impact of Emotion Expressions on Sexual Attraction; from Emotion showed. Guys—brood a little more. Brooding and swaggering men are much more attractive than men who are smiling, according to a recent study from the University of British Columbia. In fact, the women surveyed said happiness was the least attractive quality in a man. The study could explain why some women are attracted to the ;bad boy; persona. And shave those beards. Women did not rate men with have bearded faces as more attractive in a recent study in the Oxford Journal.《牛津大学期刊》上最新的调查显示,女人们并不认为有胡须的男人会更有魅力。The study found that men with beards were seen as more aggressive and of a higher social-status, but not better looking. Take a deep breath and relax. Women find less-stressed men substantially more attractive than their more-stressed out rivals, a study, published in Proceedings of the Royal Society B journal found.《英国皇家协会学报》B刊的研究表明,女人们觉得相对于压力重重的男人们而言,她们更喜欢轻松点的男人们。The study#39;s researchers concluded that men with low stress levels are more attractive, because handling a stressful situation suggests having a ;strong; genetic makeup and that can be passed on to children. Play hard to get. In another odd turn of human behavior, a study in Psychological Science showed that women found a man more attractive when she wasn#39;t sure how strongly he felt about her, as opposed to when she was certain he was very interested in her. The study found that women started thinking about a man more when she was uncertain if he really liked her or not. Then, she would conclude she liked him since she couldn#39;t ;get this guy out of her head.;研究发现当女人并不确定男人是否喜欢她时,会不断的想起这个男人。 Overall, the study suggested that if men hold back some of their feelings at the very beginning, and create some mystery, he#39;ll be more likely to hook a member of the opposite sex.

Scientists have revealed that flashing a stranger a coy smile or even just making eye contact can have a huge impact on their feelings, the Daily Mail reported. Researchers have conducted tests on hundreds of students to find out how tiny gestures can affect people -- and found how even the smallest amount of eye contact made them feel connected to others。 ;Ostracism is painful,; said chief researcher Eric Wesselmann, a social psychologist at Purdue University。 The team hopes the results can help explain why people often feel lonely in large cities where people rarely make eye contact。 Exactly when is something perceived as ;not fair;?究竟在什么情况下人们会觉得;不公平;?AS THE bankster phenomenon has so eloquently illustrated, Homo sapiens is exquisitely sensitive to injustice. Many people grudgingly tolerated the astronomical incomes of financial traders, and even the cosmological ones of banks#39; chief executives, when they thought those salaries were earned by honest labour. Now, so many examples to the contrary have emerged that toleration has vanished. Surprisingly, however, the psychological underpinnings of a sense of injustice-in particular, what triggers willingness to punish an offender, even at a cost to the punisher-have not been well established. But a recent experiment by Nichola Raihani of University College, London, and Katherine McAuliffe of Harvard, just published in Biology Letters, attempts to disentangle the matter. Dr Raihani and Ms McAuliffe tested two competing hypotheses. One is that the desire to punish is simple revenge for an offence. The other is that it is related to the offence#39;s consequences-specifically, whether or not the offender is left better off than the victim. Until recently, the temptation would have been to advertise for undergraduate volunteers for such a project. Instead, Dr Raihani and Ms McAuliffe decided to follow a new fashion in psychology and recruit their human guinea pigs through a system called Mechanical Turk. This arrangement, run by Amazon, a large internet firm, pays people registered with it (known as Turkers) small sums of money to do jobs for others. That allowed the two researchers not only to gather many more volunteers (560) than would have been possible from the average student body, but also to sp the profile of those volunteers beyond the halls of academe and beyond the age of 21. Dr Raihani and Ms McAuliffe asked their Turkers to play a game. In it, the volunteers were paired and given small sums of money. One member of a pair could then take a predefined sum from the other, or not, as he chose. After that the other could, at a certain cost to himself, impoverish his opponent to a greater degree. The first player might receive ten cents, 30 cents or 70 cents. The second player always received 70 cents. The first player was then allowed to take 20 cents of the second player#39;s money. Finally, the second player could reduce the first player#39;s total sum by 30 cents, but at a cost of ten cents to himself-in other words, he lost money too by doing so. The crucial point of the game is that in all three cases the second player suffers the same absolute loss if the first chooses to take money from him. The offence, in other words, is identical. But in the first version of the game he remains ahead if he does not retaliate (50 cents v 30 cents), in the second he comes out equal (50 cents v 50 cents), and in the third he ends up behind (50 cents v 90 cents). The upshot was that in the first two cases about 15% of second players chose to retaliate if they had money taken. This was more or less the same as the number in all three versions of the game who ;retaliated; even though they did not have money taken (a course of action allowed by the rules). In the third version, though, more than 40% of second players retaliated when money was taken from them-even though the outcome was still that the first player ended up ahead, with 60 cents to the second player#39;s 40 cents. On the face of things, this result suggests that what really gets people#39;s goat is not so much having money taken, but having it taken in a way that makes the taker better off than the victim. That will clearly bear further investigation, for example by looking at the case where the first player begins the game better off than the second. It is intriguing, though, that even such trivial sums of money can provoke thoughts of revenge. In light of this, the fate awaiting those astronomically paid bankers could be a particularly nasty one.
