They even learn how their brain works, she says, and thats not something theyre being taught.Carl Clark, a third and fourth grade teacher at Ann Arbor Open School, has been using mindfulness techniques in his classroom for two years. He says he begins each day with mindfulness to settle down the energy coming from home to the classroom. He also uses it to help settle conflicts between students.;Before this they had no idea what was happening inside of them,; Clark says. ;They had no idea why they were angry.;Mindfulness has helped the students become more aware of whats happening around them and whats happening inside them, he says. Plus, the improved focus and attention in his classroom, he says, has led to higher test scores. For The Next Idea, Benn and Clark discuss how mindfulness works in the classroom, what it will take to expand its use in Michigan schools, and the barriers that stand in the way.201510/403590嘉兴哪里做双眼皮割的好

Not all towns are desperate to attract young people并不是所有城镇都渴望吸引年轻人Nationally, an ageing population is a problem. But locally it can be a boon. The over-50s control 80% of Britains wealth, and like to spend it on houses and high-street shopping. The young “generation rent”, by contrast, is poor, distractible and liable to shop online. People aged between 50 and 74 spend twice as much as the under-30s on cinema tickets. Between 2000 and 2010 restaurant spending by those aged 65-74 increased by 33%, while the under-30s spent 18% less. The pension pots liberated by George Osbornes budget earlier this year will likely pour into property. And while the young still struggle to find work, older people are retiring later. During the financial crisis full-time employment fell for every age group but the over-65s, and there has been a rash of older entrepreneurs. Pensioners also support the working population by volunteering: some 100 retirees in Christchurch help out as business mentors. Even if they wanted to, most small towns and cities could not capture the cool kids. Mobile young professionals cluster, and greatly prefer to cluster in London. Even supposed meccas like Manchester are ageing: clubs in that city are becoming members-only, and there are an increasing number of places, as one resident puts it, that “a 19-year-old wouldnt be seen dead in”. Towns that aim too young, like Bracknell and Chippenham, can find their high streets full of closed La Senzas (a lingerie chain) and struggling tattoo parlours. Outside Britains capital, high concentrations of youth are commonly tied to high unemployment rates. Companies often lag behind local authorities in working this out. They are London-obsessed, and have been slow to appreciate the growing economic heft of the old—who are assumed, often wrongly, to stick with products they learned to love in their youth. But Caroyln Freeman of Revelation Marketing reckons Britain could be on the verge of a marketing surge directed at the grey pound, “similar to what we saw with the pink”. The window will not remain open forever: soon the baby boomers will start to ail, and no one else alive today is likely to have such a rich retirement. Meanwhile, with the over-50s holding the purse strings, the towns that draw them are likely to grow more and more pleasant. The lord mayor of Manchester, Sue Cooley, notes that decent restaurants and nice shops spring up in the favoured haunts of the old, just as they do in the trendy, revamped boroughs of London. Latimer House, a Christchurch furniture store full of retro clothing and 1940s music, would not look out of place in Hackney. Improved high streets then entice customers of all ages. Indeed, gentrification and gerontification can look remarkably similar. Old folk and young hipsters are similarly fond of vinyl and typewriters, and wander about in outsized spectacles. Some people never lose their edge. A civilian helicopter plunged into the waters of Hawaiis Pearl Harbor on Thursday. The crash resulted in its five passengers being taken to hospital, including a teenage boy who was in a critical condition. Military and local emergency officials said the crash occurred near the National Park Service Pearl Harbor visitor center around 10:30 a.m. local time. Honolulu Emergency Services Department spokeswoman Shayne Enright said there were indications that bystanders jumped into the waters near the USS Arizona Memorial to rescue the individuals from the crashed helicopter.

Poetry can have a way of pushing you out of your comfort zone and into a place that challenges your perceptions and makes you question your beliefs. The Dozen is a new book of poems released by Sibling Rivalry Press. The poems in these pages will really make you think. The author, Casey Rocheteau, was the recipient of the first Write A House permanent residency in Detroit in 2014.Rocheteau tells us the books title refers to an African-American tradition.;Its always difficult to describe,; she says. ;The dozens being sort of, you go back and forth snapping and sort of insulting each other, and its this idea of, like, Im going to tell yo momma jokes to toughen you up because when you go out into the real world, theres going to be way worse things that happen to you.;;So I took that concept of the dozens, and I wanted to flip it on its head and sort of aim it at these things which oppress us,; Rocheteau says. Its almost impossible to talk about Rocheteaus work without talking about racism. For her, its a topic that started at home. She tells us her uncle started stealing cars when he was young, and spent time in jail as a consequence. She says he fell in with the Aryan Brotherhood behind bars, and ;really took it to heart.;;When I was nine years old, he had left a hit list with his cellmate in Denver that included some cops from my town, and then pretty much every single family member who was black, or who had married or had children with a black person,; she says. ;Its been one of these things about my life thats been sort of hovering over me in certain ways, because at a very young age, I really understood the extent to which racism was turned into violence, and how that violence was aimed at me specifically.;Rocheteau has a lot to say in her powerful, sometimes gut-wrenching poems. In pushing her ers to examine themselves and the world around them, to ;think about the things that maybe you dont think about,; Rocheteau wants to foster a sense of connection and understanding.;I think overall, who I want to hear my poetry, anyone who can connect to it. Anyone who can find any sort of solace or even empathize and say, you know, Ive been through that too, and this is really hard, and I want to connect with this person,; she says.Rocheteau strives to lend a voice to those that society often chooses to ignore: the oppressed, the misunderstood, the others. To that end, she tells us its not hard to find inspiration.;I mean, look at America,; she says. ;Its to me so evident that when we talk about the people that are oppressed and groups that are facing all kinds of different obstacles, societally, thats actually the majority of people, and were lead to believe that it is actually the minority.;;Some poems will start as little vignettes of things that just happen to me in my day to day life … and then sometimes its something that I want to think about a little bit more broadly or something thats troubling me, and usually those are the things that I write into, is what what troubles me at the core of my spirit.;Casey Rocheteau is an Artist in Residence at InsideOut Literary Arts in Detroit and an editor at The Offing. In our conversation above, Rocheteau shares more about her writing and s from The Dozen.201603/433894 Stop it.Hi jon,hi.Its glad to see you别这样呐 你好Jon 好啊 见到你真高兴Well you have to be happy.I have to be happy.well apparently its required你最近一定很开心啊 我不得不开心 很显然 这是必须的Im actually, you should be happy, immensely happy真的很开心 你应该开心才对 超级开心and I was saying you should be happy because its been, its been a crazy ride for you lately我说你得开心 是因为 最近你过的那是相当刺激啊Yes,it has.Its so funny because people would call me是啊 真的是有意思极了 因为好多人打电话给我and ask just the innocent of questions.like hey jon, whats been going on就是问一些超级无聊的问题 就像 嘿 Jon 接下来会怎样Its like,oh,well,Charlie Sheen went crazy and started saying he was from mars或者像 噢 看吧 查理辛疯了 接着说的话明他来自火星and then I almost lost my job, then they hired Ashton Kutcher还说我差一点就丢工作了 要不是我东家雇了Ashton KutcherWhat, its crazy. Now is it,is it stuff that because we would just assume you knew more than we knew什么嘛 真是有够疯的 这个 这个事嘛 是因为大家都想着你知道的比我们多Or were you learning as we were learning watching all of this unflod或者你对整件事的认识和我们一样I was watching it the same way that most people were我和大多数人一样 通过同样的途径看到这消息I heard it over the internet you know and people,it was weird because I would hear it at the same time as my brother-in-law我是从网上看到的 人们就那样 太怪异了 因为我听到消息时的感觉 就像我的兄弟出啥事了Like literally heard that he left the show or what did you你也只是听说 他将要离开节目或你Yeah,I learned that from the internet, really?that he was not on the show anymore.I heard from the internet是这样 我是从网上知道的这个消息 真的吗 我看到他不再演这个电视剧了 我是从网上看到的Wow,my jaw unhinged like a giant Snake. It was like a choker喔 当时惊得我张大嘴巴 像大蛇那样 就像掐着我脖子似得So I was shocked as,and maybe you didnt believe it,maybe you thought it was just a rumor这事吓到我了 但可能你不会相信 或许你只认为那是个谣言I believed it.you did.I believed it because things were so nutty you know我信啊 你信 我信是因为那些事儿太疯狂了So things had gotten nutty before that happened. You kind of saw,did you see,Oh my God,this could actually go in a direction like this or was that not even a possibility对你看到的 有哪些看法 是天啊 “事态的发展和我想的一样” 还是 “这根本不可能发生” /201610/473067桐乡市开眼角多少钱嘉兴哪里脱毛比较好
