The U.S. said Tuesday that one of its jets crash-landed in Libya the day before. The military said the likely cause was mechanical problems, not hostile fire. The U.S. military says both crew members have been rescued. Despite the expanding no-fly zone coverage - part of a U.N. resolution to protect civilians from Libyan government attacks - opposition sources in two western towns report continuing fighting. Residents said pro-Gadhafi forces are on the offensive in both Misrata and Zintan, and report civilian casualties. Those claims could not be independently confirmed. Strains in international backing for the mission increased Tuesday, with China joining the list of dissenters. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said Beijing wants an immediate cease-fire and seeks a peaceful resolution to the conflict. China, like fellow critic Russia, abstained from backing the U.N. resolution authorizing the attacks, but did not veto the measure. The Arab League, which initially supported the U.N. move, has also expressed reservations. In a January 10 radio address, Mr. Obama said his plan to inject billions of dollars into the economy will create three to four million new jobs over two years. 90 percent of these jobs will be created in the private sector. The remaining 10 percent will be in the public sector, mainly jobs that we save like teachers, police officers, firefighters and others who provide vital services to our communities," he said. The Obama stimulus plan will be a combination of government spending and tax cuts, proposals that will soon be debated in congress. A year ago the Bush administration and Congress implemented a much smaller 8 billion stimulus that did boost economic growth for a short time, before the economy resumed the slide that began in December 2007. That first stimulus plan, combined with big spending on wars in Iraq and Afghanistan has pushed the government budget into deep deficit. Even before the planned Obama stimulus, the U.S. government was projected to be incurring a .2 trillion deficit in the current fiscal year. That is an amount equal to eight percent of economic output. Kevin Hasset, a scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, believes government spending is out of control. The deficit next year, if we pass the Obama stimulus plan...will be larger than the size of government when Bush was elected, in nominal dollar terms," he said. Martin Baily, chief economist to former President Bill Clinton, worries whether foreigners will continue to buy the Treasury debt needed to fund the rapidly growing government deficit. I think that is a danger. I said at the beginning of my comments that it is quite uncertain where the economy is going. It is possible that it will turn around more quickly and strongly than the current [Bush] administration's economic advisors think it will. In which case, the Fed [central bank] will be scrambling like crazy to rein in some of this money it has put out there," said Baily. At a [Monday] conference on the stimulus plan, speakers including Hassett and Baily, expressed concern about the eventual inflationary impact of both greatly increased government spending and rapid increases in the money supply. Most economists, however, agree that the unprecedented severity of the credit squeeze and global slowdown requires extraordinary measures to maintain consumer purchasing power. Why a tiny deal by a Chinese bank in America matters为什么中国的小小生意能够影响美国THE price is so trivial it will not have a discernible impact on the buyer, IC, the Chinese bank that is the world’s biggest by value. By the time the acquisition is approved, it may well have been forgotten by most outsiders. And yet, it could be a transformative deal whose full implications will take years to emerge. Almost lost amid the many transactions signed on January 21st to coincide with the visit of China’s President Hu Jintao to America was an agreement by IC to buy 80% of the Bank of East Asia’s small, almost profitless, retail-branch network in New York and California for 0m. If approved, the transaction would be significant because for the first time a Chinese mainland bank would have activities operating under America’s regulatory framework. But its importance goes beyond that. A tick in the box by American regulators, expected by the end of the year, would mean that they have endorsed the soundness of China’s government controlled and politically directed banking system. That has been a barrier to Chinese banks expanding in America. In recent years American supervisors have stopped short of granting full approval for Chinese firms, instead allowing them only to provide wholesale services to companies. Even then, in at least one case, supervisors have insisted that the permit be contingent on further improvements in the Chinese firm’s operating procedures. A licence for a retail operation must pass a higher threshold since local branches will be covered by America’s deposit-insurance umbrella. That, in turn, involves approving not only the operations of the bank that is entering America but also its home regulator, to ensure it is shipshape—in the jargon, that it can provide “consolidated comprehensive supervision”. In theory, the Federal Reserve’s examiners will now need access to the operations not only of China’s largest bank but of its regulators.

The gathering was the latest multi-national effort to contain fallout from a credit crunch that has sparked market meltdowns and threatened worldwide economic growth. While European leaders gathered in France, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund continued consultations in Washington, where G-Seven finance ministers met late last week. Although the meeting generated no concrete, immediate actions by the world's top industrialized nations, participants pledged close cooperation to rescue distressed banks, prevent bankruptcies and assure that credit flows resume. Recent weeks have seen nations employ more aggressive measures to prop up financial institutions, ease tight credit, and reassure panicky investors. Now, the Bush administration is proposing the federal government invest directly in troubled U.S. banks, which would constitute a partial-nationalization of America's banking sector. Several European countries have aly undertaken similar initiatives. Former Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers says strengthening the banking system is vital. The stock market is merely the sideshow in this circus," said Summers. "It is the banking system that has to be put back together, and it has got to be put back together fast." Summers was speaking on A's This Week program. Last week saw most major stock markets fall by a record 20 percent or more. Only concrete, coordinated action by governments around the world can stop the slide, according to the head of the Washington-based Institute for International Economics, Fred Bergsten. We are in the midst of a crisis of confidence. The financial markets are near panic. They need reassuring steps from the governments and the central banks," said Bergsten. "The governments and central banks need to take a series of very specific measures to get the credit markets functioning again, to get the banks lending again, to get the economy moving forward again. We need those decisions in the next day or two to get confidence back on track." Bergsten was speaking on CBS' Face the Nation. The worldwide credit crunch began in the ed States, which has weathered a wave of home foreclosures after a prolonged period of lax lending standards that saw millions of Americans acquire mortgages they could not afford. In recent weeks, the financial contagion has sp to Europe, Asia, and scores of developing nations. To combat the problem, the Bush administration has propped up and taken over failing U.S. financial institutions, championed a massive government rescue package, and tried to make it easier for businesses to finance short term needs. A growing consensus among economists and government officials holds that while individual nations must take steps on their own, only coordinated global efforts can stem the crisis. The.First.EmperorMajesty, it would be my honor to serve you as Prime Minister.Let’s not talk about these things tonight, but you should confirm Uncle Lv Buwei as your Prime Minister as soon as you can. We all think it’s for the best. Sleep now. Good nightI should serve you and guide you as a father. Nations like Qin have always been run as a feudal family business by man like Lv Buwei. But there is a revolution coming that will change all that. First, here in Qin, and ultimately the whole of China. The revolution will be led by a young scholar named Li Si. Just months after Ying Zheng becomes King, Li Si arrives at his court, looking for a job. But the man who hires and fires here is the Queen’s lover Lv Buwei, now Prime Minister. Impressed by Li Si’s obvious ambition, he is quick to take him onto his staff. It’s an impulsive decision he will come to regret. Prime Minister Lv Buwei allows Li Si an audience with the young king without taking care to be present himself. We are the strongest state within the seas. By taking advantage of our own strength and the weaknesses of our enemies, surely with the power Qin has at its disposal it will be possible to completely wipe out the feudal lords, uniting the whole world under one rule. This kind of opportunity, Sire, only comes once in ten thousand years. Yet destiny rarely ever creates a man great enough to take advantage, but I believe the great ruler is you, Majesty, and the time is now.07/77696河南省郑州华山整形医院打美白针好不好

This is Wild Chronicles. I am White Matthews. At the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, an infant gorilla named Wumundi gets some tender loving care from a dedicated keeper and lots of attention from curious visitors. He is on with a keeper all the time 24 hours a day. Zoo spokesman Sean Anglum explains that the baby’s real mother abandoned him at birth. Twelve-year-old Kwisha was hand raised by humans with diapers and bottle. She had nowhere to learn how to raise her own young. His mom gave birth to him and didn’t really know what to do with him. She was hand reared; she never had a child before; she had never been around other gorillas that have a baby so she really didn’t know any of the procedure. She didn’t know what to do. Wild gorillas, on the other hand, have plenty of role models. I often tell people of the human, has never seen a baby and never seen, you know, anything on TV, or books about a baby, and have a baby, they probably wouldn’t know what to do either. We just take it for granted that, so much around us teaches us what we need to know. And they are really about the same way; they need to learn most of things they know. With his own mom unable to care for him, the task of rearing little Wumundi has fallen on keepers like Mandy Hollingsworth. But he is not being raised to be like his mother. Instead of treating Wumundi like a human baby, Mandy is acting like a gorilla mom. He used to ride on our stomachs when he was little. And now he’s moved onto the back which is how he would be with his mom too. And he likes sit on our backs, gravitates on its sides, so it’s not as much of a struggle to hold on as when he was on the front. Getting him back there is toughest time, but once he is up, he is good. Wear knee pads, because it’s hard on knees, crawling around all day. And you know we climb around. We’re not as good as the gorillas are, but we try. Mandy is one of free keepers who care for little Wumundi in the gorilla enclosure every day. The team of 17 volunteers take on night duty. He’s never left alone, just like a baby gorilla in the wild. And he can see, smell and touch other gorillas, although separated by a fence. When in the past, they may have been dressed up in clothes, even in addition to wearing diapers, now we are trying to treat them more like a gorilla so they know that they are gorillas, and it creates a lot less confusion in their minds. And in the gorilla troop’s mind when they get him back, he really is one of them, he is not a hairy human. The bottle-fed baby has started to eat solid foods. And he is gradually being introduced to the troop, including his father, Rafiki. He shows a lot interest in the baby especially did at first. Now he doesn’t come over and touch him or anything, but he sits close, he definitely knows that’s his baby. The keepers hope that by the time he is a year old and no longer accustomed to nursing, he will form a bond with one of the more experienced female gorillas. She would be his adopted mom through adolescence. Wumundi will likely stay with the troop until he is 5 or 6 years old. Then he may pose a challenge to his father Rifiki, and have to be moved to another zoo. Until then, Wumnundi and his keepers are a popular exhibit. You know just people watching you do everything, I mean they watch you sleep, they watch you crawl around with them. And, I don’t know, it can be nerve-wracking sometimes. You know, people try to get your attention, and you know they will knock on the glass, and that’s I guess how the gorillas probably feel too. Little Wumnudi has the undivided attention of a group of humans who know a bit about what it’s like to be an ape.CheyenneThe capital of Wyoming, in the southeast part of the state near the Nebraska and Colorado borders.
