If we had to put money on it, we’d venture a guess that there are more women out there who’d rather be taller than those who’d rather be shorter. Of course, no physical desire that women have is entirely universal, but if you’re a gal who wouldn’t mind adding a couple inches to your height, you might want to keep ing. We chatted with our resident celebrity stylists, Emily Current and Meritt Elliott, who shared their insights on how you can instantly add inches to your frame just by using your wardrobe. And no, it’s not just always about throwing on a pair of super-high heels. I hate sales shopping: there is no pleasure to be had in finding things reduced to a fraction of the full price I paid four months previously (especially when that same unworn item is still swinging its full-price ticket in my wardrobe). No, the only good thing about a sale is that it announces a new season — and the only ones I like, therefore, are those in which the sales racks sit alongside rails of shiny, previously unseen stock. When I say unseen, I mean exactly that. Many of the clothes in store now have neither graced a catwalk nor featured in much editorial. Slightly more commercial and often less expensive than their catwalk counterparts, these are the pre-collections: the pearls of the fashion cycle. There are two “pre” collections; pre-fall will trickle in store from now until September, when the clothes will be joined by the more familiar autumn pieces (seen on catwalks in February). The other “pre” collection (confusingly known as resort, or cruise) goes into shops from November in advance of the spring collections. Pre-collections are a different beast from the main shows: the palette and cut are sober; the clothes are less distinctive; the styles more subtle. They are typically more wearable. No surprise, then, that they today account for 70-80 per cent of a house’s annual sales; the vast majority of a label’s turnover. Considering the financial might of these collections, one would be forgiven for wondering why we even bother with seasonal fashion shows. It seems a bizarre irony that most of the clothes we buy have nothing to do with what we see on the catwalk. So is the fashion show redundant? Most fashion insiders insist there is no other option. Financially, the show is still the best forum for buyers to gauge the heat of a design house before they make their orders. Editorially, a fashion week is still the best arena in which to maximise media attention. And, creatively, the show is still held as being the most pure distillation of a designer’s vision. Hence, the pre-collections exist to do fashion’s donkey work, just like those great character actors who crop up in dramas starring bigger household names: never out of work, barely recognised and terrifically good value. But things are changing. Next Saturday, Miu Miu will present its resort collection, in Paris, drawing to a close an unofficial “season” in which pre-collections are increasingly being staged. In the past six weeks, Chanel has shown in Korea, Gucci in New York, Louis Vuitton in Palm Springs, Dior in Cannes and, rather wonderfully, JW Anderson in Kettle’s Yard, the Cambridge gallery and former home of the late curator Jim Ede. These have been accompanied by myriad other presentations to put more focus on the lines. At the same time, the collections are mushrooming. Where once they amounted to a few looks, they are now massive — often numbering hundreds of pieces. Over the past year, the fashion donkey has metamorphosed into show pony, and the fashion calendar become an endless carousel of shows.CEO们声称这些计划外的秀场专注于主流时装周外的品牌。 Chief executives claim these off-schedule shows focus attention on the label outside the noise of fashion week. And I think it’s terrific there are so many new things to buy. But what do the designers — many of whom are now looking at a minimum of six collections a year — make of this hamster-wheel rate of productivity?“这让人心力交瘁。” “It’s exhausting,” said Roland Mouret at his store presentation. “It’s crazy,” added Peter Copping, of Oscar de la Renta. “It’s a lot of work,” said Victoria Beckham as she walked me through her pre-collection at her London Mount Street store. Beckham, who also offers a broad diffusion line (Victoria, by Victoria Beckham) had wrestled with an estimated 500-piece edit before whittling it down to her favourite looks: “We ran out of space,” she said of the clothes she had kept back. The collection will be delivered in two lots, so new stock will arrive in store every two months, not unlike the high street. 季前系列甚至有望变成时尚宠儿的意味……As yet, she has avoided staging a resort show. But watch this space. Fairground prints were a recurring motif throughout her collection. It even had a hint of show pony#8201;.#8201;.#8201;.#8201; /201507/385276哈尔滨打胎需要花费多少钱

A Saudi groom has divorced his bride on their wedding night after seeing her face for the first time when the photographer asked them to pose for pictures. The couple, from the Western Saudi town of Medinah, had agreed to marry each other despite having not met face to face - a popular custom in certain Middle Eastern countries. But when the bride removed her veil and smiled for the camera, her new husband leapt to his feet in disgust. #39;You are not the girl I want to marry,#39; he declared. #39;You are not the one I had imagined. The burial of the dead is a matter taken very seriously by Chinese. improper funeral arrangements,it is believed, can wreak ill fortune and disaster upon the family of the deceased. To a certain extent,Chinese funeral rites and burial customs are determined by the age of the deceased, the manner of his/her death,his/her status and postion in society and his/her marital status. According to Chinese custom,an older person should not show respell to a younger. Thus,if the deceased is a young, bachelor his body cannot be brought home but is left in a funeral parlour. His parents cannot offer prayers for their son: being unmarried,he has no children to perform these rites either. If a baby or child dies,no funeral rites are performed:the child is buried in silence. Funeral rites for an elderly person must follow the prescribed form and convey relevant respell:rites befitting the person#39;s status, age etc. must be performed even if this means the family of the deceased must go into debt to pay for them. Preparation for a funeral often begins before death has occurred:if a person is on his/her deathbed a coffin will often have aly been ordered by the family. A traditional Chinese coffin is rectangular with three“humps;.The coffin is provided by an undertaker who oversees all the funeral rites. When a death occurs in a family all statues of deities in the house are covered with red paper(so as not to be exposed to the body or coffin)and mirrors removed from sight,as it is believed that one who sees the reflection of a coffin in a mirror will shortly have a death in his/her family. A white cloth will be hung across the doorway of the house and a gong placed on the left of the entrance if the deceased is male and the right if female. Before being placed in the coffin, the corpse is cleaned with a damp towel, dusted with talcum powder and dressed in his/her best clothes from his/her own wardrobe(all other clothing of the deceased is burnt and not reused)before being placed on a mat. The body is completely dressed-including footwear, and cosmetics if female-but it is not dressed in red clothes(as this will cause the corpse to become a ghost):white, black, brown or blue are the usual colours used. Before being placed in the coffin the corpse#39;s face is covered with a yellow cloth and the body with a light blue one. The Wake守丧The coffin is placed either in the house(if the person has died at home ) or in the courtyard outside the house(if the person has died away from home). The coffin is placed with the head of the deceased facing the inside of the house resting about a foot from the ground on finro stools, and wreaths, gifts and a portrait or photograph of the deceased are placed at the head of the coffin. The coffin is not sealed during the wake. Food is placed in front of the coffin as an offering to the deceased. The deceased#39;s comb will be broken into halves, one part placed in the coffin, one part retained by the family如果死者死在家中的话,棺材要放在屋里;如果死者死在外面,棺材要放在屋外的庭院里。 During the wake, the family does not wear jewellery or red clothing, red being the colour of happiness. Traditionally, children and grandchildren of the deceased did not cut their hair for forty-nine days after the date of death, but this custom is usually only observed now by the older generations of Chinese. It is customary for blood relatives and daughters-in-law to wail and cry during mourning as a sign of respect and loyalty to the deceased. At the wake, the family of the deceased gather around the coffin, positioned according to their order in the family. Special clothing is worn:usually white gowns and hats. Later-arriving rela-tives must crawl on their knees towards the coffin. An altar, upon which burning incense and a lit white candle are placed,is placed at the foot of the coffin. .loss paper and prayer money(to provide the deceased with sufficient income in the afterlife)are burned continuously throughout the wake. Funeral guests are required to light incense for the deceased and to bow as a sign of respell to the family. There will also be a donation box, as money is always offered as a sign of respect to the family of the deceased: it will also help the family defray the costs of the funeral. During the wake there will usually be seen a group of people gambling in the front courtyard of the deceased#39;s house:the corpse has to be“guarded”and gambling helps the guards stay awake during their vigil;it also helps to lessen the grief of the participants. The length of the wake depends upon the financial resources of the family, but is at least a day to allow time for prayers to be offered. While the coffin is in the house(or compound ) a monk will chant verses Buddhist or Taoist scriptures at night. It is believed that the souls of the dead face many obstacles and even torments and torture(for the sins they have committed in life)before they are allowed to take their place in the afterlife:prayers, chanting and rituals offered by the monks help to smooth the passage of the deceased#39;s soul into heaven. These prayers are accompanied by music played on the gong, flute and trumpet.
